Digital Dentures Q & A

What are digital dentures?

Your teeth weaken as you age, often meaning you need replacements you can count on to help you chew, speak, play instruments, and more.

Digital dentures are dentures made with computer images of your original teeth. They’re highly customizable, and Dr. Arnett can tweak and adjust them to meet all your needs.

At The Implant & Denture Experts, Dr. Arnett uses AvaDent, a software that can create an adjustable, three-dimensional image of your teeth on a computer.

The Implant & Denture Experts then creates the dentures to your color and shape specifications with a mill located in the office.

What are the benefits of digital dentures?

There are many benefits of digital dentures that give them an advantage over other types. AvaDent’s digital dentures are:

  • Strong and durable
  • Resistant to odor
  • Resistant to discoloration
  • Comfortable
  • Natural-looking
  • Made in the office

AvaDent digital dentures also have a precise fit and don’t cause denture sores.

The Implant & Denture Experts keep the digital images of your teeth on file so they can quickly make a replacement set of dentures if you need them, with or without adjustments to their alignment or appearance.

How are my digital dentures created?

At your initial appointment, Dr. Arnett scans the inside of your mouth with a special device. The device captures the shape, size, and arrangement of your mouth to create a digital image within 24 hours.

Then, he makes adjustments to the image to allow your dentures to fit comfortably and look the way you want. You even get to select the shade for your teeth!

Once the digital image is created, the mill prints your dentures. Then, Dr. Arnett checks the final product for quality. If they don’t fit comfortably, he can adjust them using the original computer image and reprint a better-fitting device.

How long do digital dentures take to make?

Once Dr. Arnett has adjusted the digital image of your teeth to fit your mouth perfectly, the mill machine takes no more than two days to create your custom dentures.

With digital dentures instead of traditional dentures, you won’t have to come back for multiple fitting visits or impressions of your mouth. Instead, the computer image is saved and easily adjusted to fix any issues.

If your teeth are weakening as you age, it may be time to explore your options for dentures. For custom, innovative digital dentures, call The Implant & Denture Experts or book your appointment online today.
